After experiencing firsthand how coaching transformed my own physical and mental wellbeing, I knew I had to share the impact!
I always struggled with self confidence and never saw myself as a physically fit or felt that I was any good at sport. I did a bit of group exercise and went to the gym (not very regularly) but didn't really know what I was doing and I didn't find any value in it.
Then I started with my coach.
I started to train consistently and saw HUGE progression in my strength and fitness.
I started to learn about food and the impact that it had on my digestion and mood.
I started to grow in confidence, I'd be able to leave the house without make up on and wear a sports bra in the gym.
But most of all, I started to prioritise my own wellbeing. And learnt that by doing so I became a happier, healthier person.

After having a hip replacement at 33 and losing my confidence with exercise, I decided to try personal training and along came Jess!
Although it's only been a couple of months, the difference in the way I move and feel is astonishing. My flexibility is improving, healthy habits around nutrition are well and truly built, and there has been a noticeable change to my mental clarity.
Jess has built me a manageable plan, focusing on mobility and strength. I've never been 'a gym person' but working with Jess, and the workouts she has tailored to me, has really helped boost my confidence in the gym.
She's thorough in her demonstrations, and patient when things aren't feeling quite right.
She pushes me in our weekly 1:1 sessions (wow, the burn) but I still love them! That's because Jess is not only a great trainer, but also a joy to be around. The jokes (and reps) are never in short supply!
Her positively is contagious, which is a solid base for beginners like me. I would highly recommend training with Jess and wish I'd started sooner!
I started working with Jess to rehab the ankle I spectacularly wrecked at Christmas, and to become a slightly better runner than I was before. But life had other plans. In the space of a few months, I lost my mum, my son left home to start Royal Marines Commando training, and I was knee-deep in finishing a master’s degree. It was a lot.
Jess didn’t just stick to the physical stuff. She gently encouraged me to acknowledge how much stress I was under, helped me understand the impact it was having on my health, and nudged me (in the nicest possible way) to get extra support when I needed it.
She reminded me that keeping up the physical activity could actually help my mind cope too, and constantly encouraged me to notice the small wins along the way, even when I was ready to write the whole week off. She knows exactly when I can push myself more and importantly, when it's time to ease up a bit. She’s like a PT, therapist, and cheerleader combo in one fabulous package.
She also goes above and beyond with the extra things she organises, like group runs, races, and the very important lunches out afterwards. Those have been a brilliant way to stay motivated, meet lovely people, and comparing notes.
Now, my confidence in the gym is growing. I'm throwing around free weights without a care in the world (okay, maybe some care… form matters, as Jess always reminds me). I'm also now a stretching and mobility super fan! And instead of setting wildly unrealistic goals that I then beat myself up for not achieving, Jess helps me set actual, achievable ones. The kind that don’t require a miracle or a time machine.
Working with Jess has been about so much more than just getting stronger physically. It's been about resilience, self-compassion, and having a laugh along the way.
I had been doing HIIT classes at the gym for a few years and was fairly fit but I still struggled with niggling injuries and didn't feel I was progressing.
I didn't want to commit to a huge amount of time in the gym but I wanted to improve my strength and understanding of what I was doing and why. Jess was ideal for this as she has excellent knowledge and is able to bring a sense of humour while still pushing you hard.
We did an initial assessment and figured out where my weaknesses were and initially we just worked at getting to a solid starting position where I was more flexible and balanced.
Then we were able to start adding exercises with free weights etc. which added a new challenge and kept things interesting. By improving my form and focusing on moving in the right way, I have been able to overcome some of the aches and pains that were troubling me for years while increasing my strength and conditioning.
In June 2023 I had emergency spinal surgery from a historic gym related injury, which not only limited my mobility but understandably ruined my confidence when it came to training. I needed someone who had patience and understood the complexities of training someone when recovering from something so serious.
In stepped Jess. Jess has been an absolute breath of fresh air in the last year and has helped me slowly build up the strength and confidence to allow me to feel like I can do whatever I want to.
My back is now virtually pain free and my confidence in and out of the gym is soaring, I couldn’t thank her more for helping me ‘transform’ my outlook on strength training and life.
I started hybrid coaching with Jess in November and my only regret is not starting sooner!

I have trained in the gym for a few years but needed more help with my structure and the goals I want to work towards. Jess has created training programmes specifically tailored to those goals and I have seen & felt such a progression in my strength!

Before meeting Jess I trained 1/2 times a week and had never trained in a gym on my own as I didn’t have the confidence or the know how.
I now train up to 4 times a week and that’s simply down to Jess instilling that confidence in me and making me believe “I can”.
Jess doesn’t just provide specifically tailored 1-1 sessions she provides nutritional support, life style advice, a structured training routine accessible via your phone. She really is just trying to make you the best you you can be not just in the gym, but in your home life too.
Jess is an incredible PT and is just as committed to achieving my goals as I am, but more importantly a lovely person to be around which makes turning up to the gym a hell of a lot easier!
Before training with Jess I'd done various programs and challenges from other trainers which left me with an ‘all or nothing’ approach to nutrition and training, resulting in poor relationships and associations with both.
Since training with Jess I feel there's balance with emphasis on progressive overload enabling my strength and confidence in the gym to increase.
With her support my restrictive approach to food has shifted with a focus on fuelling my body for the training sessions, as well as still allowing for life to happen, whilst still getting the results. Jess is the nicest but also the most brutal PT! Her programmes are well thought out, challenging, and combine mobility, strength and cardio.
I have now lost 6% body fat and increased my muscle mass by 2kg!
I've been training with Jess for over 2 months, she has put together a set of programmes that help with my strength, stamina, posture and mobility. I can already feel the results and can see my own progression.
I used to go to the gym and run on the treadmill and use a few of the machines aimlessly but Jess has really helped in identifying which exercises are best for me and my goals.
My confidence has really grown and I can now go to the gym and do a programme which is helping me towards my goals.
The mobility aspect which Jess has put in place has really helped with my running. In the short time we've been training together I've managed to shave a minute off my 10k personal best.
